Corrective Back Indexing & Uploading

The Belmont County Recorder’s Office has commenced correcting indexing errors for deeds prior to 1992. Some documents may appear as unverified with a red ‘X’ while awaiting review. Substantive changes (correcting misspellings, adding names that were not indexed, etc.) will be notated in the public comment field and made viewable to the public.

The office is currently reviewing DEEDS from 1983.

This project will encompass all Deed, Mortgage, and Lease Volumes from 1974 through 1992.

The office started this project in May 2023. It is expected to be completed in 2028.

The Belmont County Recorder’s Office has also commenced back scanning instruments and images not currently available to the public. Deeds, POA, Lien, and Miscellaneous Records will be added to our online system. Updated lists of what is available to the public online will be available as progress is made.
