Corrective Back Indexing & Uploading

The Belmont County Recorder’s Office has commenced correcting indexing errors for deeds prior to 1992. Some documents may appear as unverified with a red ‘X’ while awaiting review. This project will encompass Deed Volumes 544 through 675. Substantive changes (correcting misspellings, adding names that were not indexed, etc.) will be notated in the public comment field and made viewable to the public.

The office is currently reviewing LIENS and PARTNERSHIPS from 1970-1992.

The office started this project in May 2023. It is expected to be completed in 2027.

The Belmont County Recorder’s Office has also commenced back scanning instruments and images not currently available to the public. Deeds, POA, Lien, and Miscellaneous Records will be added to our online system. Updated lists of what is available to the public online will be available as progress is made. This will allow the office to be in compliance with SB 94 which passed in June 2024 which requires all instruments to be scanned and available online back to 1980.

The office started this project in March 2024. Its completion date is not known at this time.
